Amazing
Grace:
A
new play by Fr. Ho Lung and Friends
By
Rose Marie Tokar
Once
again Father Ho Lung and his fantastically talented
troupe from Jamaica have mesmerized their loyal audiences
with a power-packed musical drama. The true life story
of Grace Christie is presented to us in such a way
that it could only have been written through divine
inspiration.
Grace
Christie loses her son, a talented and youthful singer,
who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. A drug-related
street fight took place and Christopher was caught in
the line of fire. Grace’s policeman husband Justin
(Wynton Williams) is determined to bring the drug dealer
to justice – to him that means the dealer must
be shot … by him. Then Grace discovers that Robby,
the drug dealer is a young man who grew up with no love,
no father, and a mother who was too busy trying to survive
to show her son love. Grace is a God-fearing woman,
and from the depths of her heart she begs her husband
to spare Robby, to give him a chance. She forgives her
son’s killer and she begs those around to try
to help him, to show him how God’s love can make
forgiveness a living reality. |
